Today I visited the Radius Youth Outreach Center and enjoyed the privilege of having lunch with 12 young men in their care. We had an open and honest conversation about every challenge they face and their ideas on how to make Radius even better.

They are smart, passionate, and full of creativity. It’s crucial for us to listen to them and truly hear them at this age. Real trust is built when we can take their ideas and create visible change.

During my early efforts in City Council to bring restorative youth programs to our community, I worked alongside leaders, community members, and nonprofits to help bring Radius to life. Meeting Nick Juliano, knowing he has spent years while at Boys Town honing his expertise in public policy making and more, Radius’s growth and impact today is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together.

A huge thank you to all the Radius staff for being so welcoming!  You should all be incredibly proud of the work you’re doing. The impact is real, and it matters.
